When Silence Speaks Louder Than Performance
During 21 sacred days of fasting, I received a divine invitation:
“Sit with Me in the Garden. Disarm. Remove your armor of performance. And let Me clothe you in the royal garments of My daughter.”
I wasn’t lost. But I was tired of trying to be found in all the wrong places.
For years, I had carried expectations, burdens, and emotional weight that weren’t mine. I had said yes to avoid disappointing others. I had kept quiet to avoid being misunderstood. I had worn my strength like armor, when what I truly longed for was to be held.
But something changed. Not because I worked harder to become someone else — but because I finally stopped striving.
That’s when the song “When I Seek You” became more than music. It became the soundtrack of my reawakening.
A Heartbeat of Return
“Awaken my soul to a brand new day / Searching for You, no more delays…”
I had reached a new dawn inside. A quiet rebirth. Not rushed, not loud — but holy.
The lyrics echoed my own surrender:
“You promised, I will find You waiting”
And I did. He was already there. In the hidden places. In the garden of my soul. Not demanding perfection. Just presence. Not expecting performance. Just my whole heart.
From Strength to Surrender
I had mistaken endurance for maturity. But Heaven whispered something different:
Disarm. Rest. I didn’t call you to impress Me. I called you to be with Me.
Every line of that song was like a soft knock on the door of my soul:
“When I seek with my whole heart beating… You promised I will find You waiting.”
This wasn’t about religion. It was about restoration. I was no longer seeking God as an idea — I was seeking God as a Father. And when I looked inward, I didn’t find absence. I found Him.
The Royal Garments of Identity
The revelation? I am a daughter.
Not a performer. Not a fixer. Not a role.
A daughter. Loved. Seen. Carried. And now clothed in dignity, even when I still forget how to walk in it.
Sometimes I try to go back to old habits. But the Garden keeps calling. Because once you hear that voice, you can’t un-hear it.
“I’m seeking You with all my heart… I’m finding You right where You are.”
Are You Hearing the Invitation Too?
Maybe you’re not lost. Maybe you’re just tired. Maybe God isn’t asking you to climb higher — maybe He’s asking you to sit beside Him.
This song was a guidepost for me. A mirror. A homecoming.
If your heart has been beating a little differently lately… If you’ve been feeling both soft and strong at the same time… Maybe Heaven is calling you back to the Garden, too.

Let this melody echo in you. Let the garden call you back with grace and truth.
This article is part of the Sending Perfection project — a living memorial of our family’s spiritual journey. Each song documents the invisible: the process, the prayers, and the encounters with God in the simplicity of daily life. May every song find its place in the heart of the listener.
